Conciso

About Conciso
In September 2012,
during two rainy days in the Douro Valley, which forced the harvest to stop,
Dirk Niepoort went down to Dão to see a very old, almost centennial vineyard.
This vineyard, facing east to the Serra da Estrela slope, carefully handled by
an old farmer, was at the perfect time to be harvested. An old vineyard on
granite soil, with mixed grape varieties, was almost like love at first sight.
After a healthy discussion, he was able to buy the grapes and harvest that day.
With the help of the great friend Álvaro de Castro of Quinta da Pellada, the
grapes were vinified in wine press. Concise is our interpretation of a fine and
elegant Dão, with no strong fruit taste, which shows the full potential of an
old vineyard.
